Rajasthan News: Income Tax Department raids the premises of two political parties, revealing bogus donations of Rs 500 crore

The Income Tax Department has taken major action against fake income tax exemption and fake donations across the country. In the raids that started on July 14 on the instructions of the Central Board of Direct Taxes, the Income Tax Department has also tightened the noose on two political parties. In the investigation, the Income Tax Department has found evidence of fake donations of about Rs 500 crore in the last three years, which were returned in cash after deducting commission.

As part of the search operation conducted at more than 150 places across the country, the investigation branch of the Income Tax Department has raided about 10 locations of two political parties in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. This action was taken in Bhilwara in Rajasthan, Alirajpur in Madhya Pradesh and Aurangabad in Maharashtra.

The names of the two political parties that have come up in the investigation include Bharatiya Samajik Party (Madhya Pradesh) and Yuva Bharat Atmanirbhar Dal (Maharashtra). According to the Income Tax Department, both the parties took a large amount of cash in the name of fake donations and then kept a part of it as commission and returned the rest of the amount in cash. This amount was not used in political activities. Both the parties had taken huge donations from many places including Bhilwara in Rajasthan.

The department’s action also revealed that an organized gang was operating in the name of fake deductions and exemptions. It included ITR filing agents, middlemen, CAs and tax consultants. These people used to commit irregularities in tax by making fake receipts like medical expenses, children’s tuition fees and house rent in the name of income tax exemption.

Computers, laptops, mobile phones and digital devices have been seized in the raid. The department is now investigating these devices in depth so that all the links related to fake donations can be revealed. The Income Tax Department is now preparing a list of taxpayers who gave fake donations to these political parties. Soon strict action can be taken against such taxpayers. According to sources, this number can be quite large and many high-profile people of Rajasthan can also come under investigation.
