Who is this Swami Ji who participated in Moharram? Discussion is going on everywhere…: A glimpse of Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb was seen in the Muharram procession in Lucknow. A procession was taken out in old Lucknow on the occasion of Yaum-e-Ashura. People from both Hindu and Muslim communities participated in this procession.
Swami Sarang, wearing saffron clothes and a tilak on his forehead, was seen immersed in grief and raised slogans of ‘Ya Ali’ and ‘Ya Hussain’. He paid tribute to the martyrs of Karbala. Muslim religious leader Maulana Kalbe Jawad was also present on this occasion. Swami Sarang has been participating in the Muharram procession for the last 10 years.

Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar. The 10th date of this month is very special for Muslims. It is celebrated as Ashura. On this day, the martyrdom of Imam Hussain and his companions is remembered, since then Muslims and people of other communities around the world organize Tajiadari, Langar and procession in this month in memory of those martyred in Karbala.
Swami Sarang said that Karbala is a global message. Imam Hussain gave this message through his martyrdom, which the whole world likes as peace. Swami Sarang had tied a sword and chain on his back in grief. These knives were tied in chains, which are used during mourning.
Swami Sarang has been participating in the Muharram procession for the last 10 years to give the message of peace. Swami Sarang’s contribution is commendable. Muslim religious leader Maulana Kalbe Jawad said that Imam Hussain had expressed his desire to settle in India 1350 years ago.
