On August 2, 2027, a historic astronomical event is going to happen which is being called the “Solar Eclipse of the Century“. On this day, many parts of the world will be in complete darkness for about 6 minutes 23 seconds, when the Moon will completely cover the Sun. This solar eclipse is so rare that the next time such a sight will be seen after 100 years i.e. in 2114.
Where will this solar eclipse be visible?
This solar eclipse will be visible in many countries of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. It will start from the Atlantic Ocean and it will pass through countries like Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Sudan and Somalia.
This solar eclipse will be partially visible in India, especially from 3:34 pm to 5:53 pm.
Why is this solar eclipse so special?
The solar eclipse on August 2, 2027 will be very special from the astronomical point of view, because its duration of totality will be about 6 minutes 23 seconds, which is almost double that of normal solar eclipses. A rare astronomical coincidence will also occur on this day when the Earth will be farthest from the Sun and the Moon will be closest to the Earth.
Due to this, the Moon will appear relatively larger and the Sun smaller, which will be able to cover the Sun completely. This eclipse will be visible in an area of about 258 kilometers wide, due to which millions of people will be able to see it directly and this experience can become a lifelong memory for them.
