New Toll Rule 2025: The government has given a big relief to those traveling on highways. Now if you travel on a highway made of flyovers, underpasses or tunnels, you will get a 50% discount in toll tax. This rule will especially apply to those routes where more than half of the road is made of these structures. Traveling on the bypass, ring road and expressway of metro cities will now be cheaper than ever.
There will be direct benefit in cities like Delhi
For example, Delhi’s Dwarka Expressway is about 28.5 kilometers long, out of which 21 kilometers is made of flyovers and underpasses. Earlier, a toll of ₹ 317 was charged for a one-way trip by car on this. But now under the new rule, this toll will be around ₹ 164. This will give huge savings to daily commuters.
Which passengers will benefit the most?
This decision will provide the most relief to those who go to office or work daily by their vehicle, or use urban bypass and ring road. Apart from this, drivers engaged in trade or freight transport will also get direct benefit. Now they will be able to use these routes more without worrying about toll.
When will the new rule be implemented?
The Ministry of Road Transport has approved this proposal, and it will be implemented across the country in a few weeks. Soon an official notification will be issued stating on which roads these rules will be applicable and what will be the new toll rates. Overall, this change has come as a big relief for the common people.
