Muslim brothers immersed in devotion to Lord Shiva, set out for Bateshwar Dham carrying 151 kg of Kanwar

Two Muslim brothers from Krisha village of Bah area of Agra district of Uttar Pradesh have set an example of religious harmony and faith. 25-year-old Sajid Khan and his younger brother 22-year-old Sunny Khan have set out on the Kanwar Yatra for the first time, and that too with a Kanwar of 151 kg of Ganga water. Their goal is to reach Bateshwar Dham on July 14 and perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva.

Both the brothers said that this journey was the wish of their parents, and they accepted it with full devotion. They say, “We are Sanatanis first, Muslims later. Lord Shiva is our idol.” This statement not only reflects religious harmony, but also shows that faith is not bound by the boundaries of any religion.

Sajid and Sunny have been seeing the people of their village doing the Kanwar Yatra for years. This time he himself decided to be a part of this yatra and started the journey from Lahara Ghat of Soron with his 10-member group. He told that lifting a 151 kg Kaanvad is not easy, but he gets energy from his devotion to Shiva.

After proper worship by the priest at the Ganga Ghat, he was sent off. Both the brothers also made it clear that they will not keep the Kaanvad on the ground, because it is a symbol of faith and respect. They say that there is no such thing as fatigue – the one who lifts the Kaanvad gets strength automatically.

The journey of these brothers is not only an example of religious faith, but it also highlights the cultural diversity of India and the spirit of brotherhood. Everyone is getting emotional seeing their enthusiasm and dedication in the Kaanvad Yatra.
