A sensational murder case has come to light in Uttam Nagar, Delhi, which is similar to the famous Raja Raghuvanshi murder case of Indore. Here a woman, along with her lover brother-in-law, killed her husband. An attempt was made to pass off the murder as an accidental electric shock, but mobile chats and post-mortem report exposed the conspiracy.

What is the whole case?

The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Karan Dev, who lived with his wife Sushmita Dev and 6-year-old son in Om Vihar Phase-1, Uttam Nagar. On the morning of July 13, Sushmita called the family and told them that Karan had been electrocuted. The family took him to Maggo Hospital, where doctors declared Karan dead.

The secret was revealed through mobile chat

Karan’s brother Kunal Dev was given his mobile by accused Rahul Dev (Karan’s cousin), in which Sushmita and Rahul’s Instagram chat was found. In the chat, Sushmita had written: “Karan has been given sleeping pills, he will die by 4 pm. You come at 3 pm.”

Police said that Sushmita fed Karan 15 sleeping pills and when he became unconscious, she along with Rahul gave Karan an electric shock by touching his finger to a live wire, so that the death could be shown as an accident.

Affair was going on for two years

Sushmita and Rahul were having an affair for 2 years, which the family was not aware of. Both of them had conspired to murder to grab the property and live together. In the post-mortem, traces of sleeping pills were found in Karan’s stomach, which made the police suspicious and the investigation intensified.

Police registered a murder case

On the complaint of Karan’s brother Kunal, the police have registered a case of murder and criminal conspiracy. Both the accused have been arrested and during interrogation they have confessed that they had planned the murder together.
