A heartbreaking case has come to light from Badshahpur Vaira village in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. Asif, a resident of this village, committed suicide on July 11, the reason for which is said to be the alleged mental and physical torture by his wife Rubina, her lover Salim, and brother-in-law Shahrukh. The deceased’s brother Abid Khan has lodged an FIR against the three and has demanded strict action.
What are the allegations?
According to the FIR, Rubina had an illicit relationship with Salim, a youth from the same village. It is alleged that Salim would bring intoxicating pills and give them to Rubina, which she would feed to Asif and make him unconscious. After this, she would have sex with Salim, and all this would happen in front of Asif. The FIR claims that on July 9, Asif told his brother that Rubina and Salim tied his hands and legs and did obscene acts in front of him and used to say, “Now you will die after seeing all this, so that our path is clear”.
Serious allegations against brother-in-law Shahrukh too
When Asif complained about this matter to his wife’s brother Shahrukh, he also refused to help. It is alleged that Shahrukh said, “When you are not able to do anything, then you should die by hanging or consuming poison, my sister will be free”.
Police action
Looking at the seriousness of the matter, the police have registered a case against Rubina, Salim and Shahrukh under sections of abetment to suicide. CO Secunderabad Bhaskar Mishra said that investigation has been started and efforts are being made to arrest the accused.
This incident not only raises questions on the sensitivity of relationships but also draws attention to the increasing mental harassment and domestic violence in the society. The truth will come out only after the police investigation, but at present there is an atmosphere of anger and mourning in the village regarding this incident.
