On 28 November 2022, while playing for Maharashtra in the quarter-final match of Vijay Hazare Trophy, Rituraj hit 7 sixes in an over of Uttar Pradesh bowler Shiva Singh. This was possible because a no ball was also bowled in the over, making a total of 7 balls and Rituraj hit sixes on all the balls. In this over, he scored 43 runs on his own and became the first player in cricket history to hit 7 sixes in an over.
