Bollywood actress Fatima Sana Shaikh, who is enjoying the success of ‘Metro In Dinon’, recently shared two such experiences from her personal life that have deeply affected her thinking and life.
In an interview to Happenings, Fatima told how once a man tried to touch her inappropriately in a public place. She bravely resisted him – “I slapped him, but he hit me so hard that I fell down.” The incident was not only a test of her confidence but also instilled a vigilance and understanding within her.
“The biggest thing is that it is someone else’s fault, but we have to think about how we react,” Fatima said. The incident forced her to rethink the meaning of self-defense, emotional strength and social response.
She also faced an unpleasant experience during the Covid-19 lockdown. While she was cycling, a tempo driver kept following her and making uncomfortable noises. The incident proved to be another challenge to her personal freedom.
These incidents have made Fatima even stronger. She says that she has learnt from her experiences how women should be aware and stand up with self-respect in such moments.
This bold statement of Fatima is not only inspiring but also starts an important conversation about women’s safety and social awareness.
