What are the new prices?
According to the data released recently by the government, the new prices of petrol and diesel have come down significantly in the major cities of the country. Petrol in Delhi has become ₹ 72.50 and diesel ₹ 65.75 per liter, while in Mumbai petrol is being sold at ₹ 74.00 and diesel at ₹ 67.20.
In Kolkata, the rate is ₹ 73.20 (petrol) and ₹ 66.50 (diesel), while in Chennai it is ₹ 73.00 and ₹ 66.00, in Bengaluru it is ₹ 73.50 and ₹ 66.70, in Hyderabad it is ₹ 74.20 and ₹ 67.00, in Pune it is ₹ 73.80 and ₹ 66.80 and in Ahmedabad it is ₹ 72.70 and ₹ 65.90.
According to these new rates, now the fuel prices have come down significantly from the old level of ₹ 120 to ₹ 150 per liter, which is considered to be the biggest reduction in the last few years. Consumers are expected to get direct benefit from this.
Reason for fall in prices
There are many important reasons behind the fall in the prices of petrol and diesel. The biggest reason is the reduction in the price of crude oil in the international market, due to which the import of fuel in India has become cheaper.
