Bangladeshi citizen was living in India for 28 years with fake identity, ‘Neha Kinnar’ turned out to be Abdul Kalam

A shocking case has come to light from Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, where a Bangladeshi citizen Abdul Kalam was living in India with a fake identity for the last 28 years. He was known as ‘Neha Kinnar’ among the local people, but his real identity has been revealed in the police investigation.

How was it revealed?

Bhopal Police had received information that the identity of a woman named Neha Kinnar is suspicious. During the investigation, it was found that Neha is actually a Bangladeshi citizen Abdul Kalam, who had illegally entered India with a gang at the age of 17. He spent about 20 years in Mumbai and then came to Bhopal’s Budhwara area and became a part of the Kinnar community.

A web of fake documents

Abdul got documents like Aadhar card, voter ID and passport made fraudulently while living in India. With the help of these documents, he also managed to travel to and from Bangladesh, which exposed the serious flaws in the border security and documentation system.

Tight security custody

Abdul has been kept in custody for 30 days at Talaiya police station, where only the station in-charge and two women police officers can approach him. The police are now also preparing to conduct gender verification tests to ascertain whether he had actually adopted a transgender identity or just to hide his identity.

Central agencies join the investigation

Given the gravity of the case, the Intelligence Bureau, Anti-Terrorism Squad and Cyber Crime Unit have also joined the investigation. Abdul’s mobile phone, call records and social media chats are being thoroughly investigated.
