These days, it has become very easy to make any picture or video viral on social media with a misleading claim. Thousands of posts are shared daily on platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, many of which are completely fake. One such case came to light recently, in which a picture of an elderly man and a young woman was shared and it was claimed that a Muslim man in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh married his daughter-in-law just five days after the death of his son.
What was the viral claim?
On July 11, 2025, a user shared two pictures on Facebook and wrote, “There are talks about the generosity of Mohammad Shakeel, a resident of Deoria, UP. Shakeel’s son had left this world just 5 days ago in search of 72 huris. But Mohammad Shakeel did not let his daughter-in-law miss her husband even for a moment and married his own daughter-in-law.” This post was shared thousands of times and many users reacted believing it to be true.
What did the fact check reveal?
When this viral claim was investigated, Google reverse image search revealed that this picture is not recent but has been available on the Internet since 2017. The name of the person seen in the picture is Rajesh Kumar Himatsinka, who is a businessman from Assam and has been the managing director of ‘Himatsinka Auto Enterprises Limited’.

According to a report of Rajasthan Patrika dated August 12, 2018 and an old report of Divya Marathi, Rajesh Kumar married a young woman who was about 40–45 years younger than him several years after the death of his first wife. The age of the young woman was said to be less than Rajesh Kumar’s daughter, due to which this matter came into discussion at that time.
Caution is necessary on social media
This case once again proves that not every news or picture going viral on social media is true. Presenting old pictures with new and misleading claims has become a common practice, which can spread misunderstandings and communal tension in the society. It has become clear in the fact check that the claim about Shakeel and daughter-in-law of Deoria has no connection with this picture. People are appealed to check the truth of any viral post before sharing it and avoid rumours.
