A very objectionable incident has come to light with a female devotee who came to visit the famous Maa Vindhyavasini temple located in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh. The woman has alleged that a hotel employee secretly made videos and photographs while she was bathing in her room in a hotel located near the temple. This hotel is allegedly associated with BJP MLA Ratnakar Mishra and his family.
In a complaint lodged at Vindhyachal police station, the woman said that she had come to visit Vindhyachal from Lucknow with her aunt’s son on July 9. They took two rooms in a hotel near the temple, the driver and his companion stayed in one, while she herself stayed in the other.
On July 10, when she was bathing in the bathroom, she saw in the mirror that hotel employee Ashish Mishra was making a video with a mobile. The woman immediately called her companions and asked the employee to show the mobile, but he started evading.
On the woman’s complaint, the police took immediate action and arrested the accused employee. The police say that the investigation of the case is going on and strict legal action will be taken against the culprit.
This incident is not only a violation of the woman’s privacy, but also raises serious questions on the safety of devotees at the religious place. The administration is expected to conduct an impartial investigation of this case and give the strictest punishment to the culprits and take concrete steps to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
